Sanctuary Guinea Pigs
We offer sanctuary to up to 10 guineas in our home. These are guineas who have ongoing health issues or are elderly. These guinea pigs have a permanent home with us so their special needs can be met. Here are some of the current residents at the rescue.
Bea is our most recent arrival. She originally came into rescue as a baby 4 years ago. She was adopted but sadly her companion died recently and she has been returned to find a companion. she has a chronic bladder issue managed to some degree by diet. We will assess over the next couple of weeks but due to her age and health issues she is likely to stay at the sanctuary.
Fifi
Fifi is one of our sanctuary guineas. She is an older sow who has chronic oral issues so needs a bit of extra help to keep her mouth clean. She had been struggling a bit more recently so saw the vet yesterday for treatment. She is back munching her food well again now. (Updated October 2018).

Lizzy
Lizzy (far right) has been with our family for a couple of years now. She is an older sow with benign cysts. She remained at the rescue when her companion died whilst waiting for adoption. She is a gentle sow and enjoys coming out to graze.
Julie
We were delighted to welcome Julie (brown guinea) to the group of sanctuary guinea pigs at NEGPR (October 2018). Julie is an older guinea pig and had been living alone for several years. Bonding went well and she seems pleased to have company. She and Fifi are particularly close.

Julie

Snowdrop
Snowdrop came into the rescue with her companion Daffodil in March 2016. She was about 4 years old at that time. Daffodil had an ongoing eye issue which took some time to treat. Daffodil and Snowdrop were up for adoption for a year but were not offered a home. Due to their age it was decided it would be best for them to stay at the rescue where they had settled and join the sanctuary guinea pigs. Daffodil has now passed but Snowdrop is a happy girl who enjoys snuggling up to her companions.
