North East Guinea Pig Rescue

Friends of the Rescue

The guinea pigs that come into the rescue are lucky as there are many people who offer to help and support the continued running of the rescue. Many of these people are adopters who offer to help the guineas after adopting a guinea pig from the rescue themselves.

No one who helps with the rescue is paid. Friends of the rescue do all the work voluntarily and often give up much of their time and money to support the rescue.

The following people are recognised as friends of the rescue and I thank them for their contribution the rescue.

Guy – Biggest thanks go to my partner Guy who spends a lot of his time helping with the cleaning and looking after of the guineas. He has given up a lot of his time to build and improve facilities at the rescue, including providing them with a centrally heated shed.

Ash - Adopted a guinea pig from the rescue last year. Since then she has kindly fostered guinea pigs on a temporary basis whilst they were waiting for homes. She also contributes and helps with the organisation of fund-raising events.

Amanda and Colin – Have now adopted two guinea pigs from the rescue. They now kindly foster guineas on a short term basis whilst the guinea pigs wait to be rehomed.

Kirsty – Has now adopted several guinea pigs from the rescue. She now fosters guineas on a short term basis whilst the guinea pigs wait to be rehomed.

Katherine – The longest standing fosterer for the rescue. Katherine has fostered many guineas pigs for the rescue over the past 2 years.

Gemma and Steve – Have both organised and ran a fund raising event to support the rescue. Steve also designed and maintains the website.

Christine: Has adopted many guineas from the rescue and helps with fostering as well.

Karina: Has adopted many guineas from the rescue and now helps with fostering as well.
