The rescue is self-funded and relies completely on donations to continue running and taking in unwanted guinea pigs. Most of the rescue is funded by me, but donations from adopters really help support the rescue. Without these donations the rescue would no longer be able to continue its work.

I receive no funding from any other organisation or charity. No one is paid to work for the rescue, the work I do is voluntary and all fosterers work as volunteers, they are not paid. All donations go to treating and feeding the guinea pigs.

The cost of running the rescue fluctuates month by month, depending on how many guinea pigs are at the rescue and whether there are a lot of poorly guinea pigs requiring treatment. We also spend about £200 a month on castrations to enable our lone boars to be bonded with females.

BANK TRANSFER: We can accept donations by bank transfer. If you would like to make a regular donation, sponsor one of our long-term guinea pigs, or make a one-off donation into the rescue’s bank account please email negprescue@gmail.com 

CHEQUE: Cheques can be made payable to North East Guinea Pig Rescue.

 OTHER DONATIONS: As well as giving cash donations I am always grateful for donations of:

• Guinea pig nuggets, hay, and fresh fruit and vegetables
• Ceramic food bowls
• Towels and fleeces
• Igloos and other guinea pig accessories
• Tombola items
